At 21:22 on March 15, 2026, the Long March 6A launch vehicle was successfully launched from the Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center, accurately placing the Yaogan-50 02 satellite into its designation orbit, signaling a complete success of the launch mission.

The Long March 6A is a new-generation medium-lift launch vehicle with solid-fuel and liquid propellant developed by Shanghai Academy of Spaceflight Technology (SAST). The rocket can meet the diversified and intensive launch requirements, including launching single satellites, multiple satellites in parallel or tandem, and stacked, wall-mounted, or piggyback launches, with a payload capacity of no less than 6.5 tons for deploying satellites into a 500-kilometer sun-synchronous orbit.

During the mission, the model team adhered to a rigorous and detail-oriented working approach. Through meticulous organization and careful planning, each stage of the launch process was thoroughly inspected and verified step by step to ensure that no potential risks were overlooked. At the same time, the model team strictly controlled technical risks from multiple dimensions, including awareness, operations, system thinking, safety responsibility, and coordinated management. Special attention was given to challenging operations, “small, remote, and dispersed” tasks, and error-prone procedures, which were re-examined and discussed in dedicated review workshops. Responsibilities for each position were clearly defined and fulfilled, laying a solid foundation for the successful completion of the mission.
This launch mission is the 21st launch of Long March 6A launch vehicle, the 260st flight test of the Long March series of launch vehicles developed by Shanghai Academy of Spaceflight Technology, and the 633rd launch of China’s Long March series of launch vehicles.
