At 6:33 on March 13, 2026, the Long March 2D Carrier Rocket successfully sent two satellites (Shiyan-30 03 and 04) into the preset orbit at the Xichang Satellite Launch Center, marking the full success of the launch. Both the satellite and the rocket were developed under the lead of SAST.

The Long March-2D carrier rocket tasked with this mission is a two-stage liquid-propellant rocket designed for normal temperature conditions. It has the capability to launch single or multiple satellites into different orbital requirements, with a sun-synchronous circular orbit capacity of 1.3 tons (at an orbital altitude of 700 km).

This mission marks the first launch of the Long March-2D carrier rocket in 2026. The mission spanned the Spring Festival holiday, during which the rocket team scientifically formulated a plan for the rocket's storage during the holiday and ensured solid logistical support. To improve the reliability of high-density launches, the team strictly implemented various management requirements. By optimizing the launch site testing process, they refined pre-launch inspection items, enhanced the comprehensiveness of launch site tests, and precisely controlled the technical status of the product.
Despite the severe situations of multiple parallel missions, following the principle of "higher efficiency, stricter standards and a more pragmatic work style", the whole R&D team, led by the chief designer and chief engineers of the satellite program, continuously optimized and streamlined the launch site procedures, adjusted test items and methods based on in-orbit test data, conducted a systematic full-process risk identification, and defined and strictly implemented control measures to escort the progress of the mission.

During launch site operations, the satellite team maintained rigorous management standards, ensuring that every step was documented, every level provided with confirmation, and every stage remained under control. A comprehensive quality confirmation system was put into practice. For each critical telemetry parameter, end-to-end comparisons were conducted across all phases—from unit acceptance and satellite AIT to launch site preparations—to eliminate any potential issues before flight.
This marks the 102nd launch of the Long March 2D Carrier Rocket, the 259th of the Long March series carrier rockets under the lead of SAST, and the 632nd of the Long March series carrier rockets.
