At 15:48 on January 19, 2026, the Long March-12 Carrier Rocket was ignited and lifted off from the Hainan Commercial Spacecraft Launch Site, successfully sending the satellites of Satellite Internet low earth orbit 19 constellation into the preset orbit. The launch mission was a complete success.

The Long March-12 Carrier Rocket is a new-generation cryogenic liquid launch vehicle developed under the overall management of SAST. The rocket is also China's first 4-meter-diameter single-core-stage launch vehicle, with a Low Earth Orbit (LEO) payload capacity of not less than 12 tonnes and a Sun-Synchronous Orbit (SSO) payload capacity of not less than 6 tonnes at a 700 km altitude. It can be configured with 4.2-meter or 5.2-meter diameter fairings subject to specific mission requirements and supports the launch missions of single or multiple satellites to different orbits.

In this mission, the team members continued to tap into the rocket's payload capacity by optimizing the weight of the structures and compartments such as the on-board cable networks and transition cabins, thus achieving a 10% weight reduction on the premise of ensuring service performance and strength. This has effectively enhanced the rocket's adaptability to launch missions. In addition, the team continued to optimize the pre-launch workflow and personnel deployment, further improving the rocket launch efficiency, which has laid a solid foundation for subsequent intensive launch missions.
As this mission coincided with the New Year holiday, the team remained laser-focused on key milestones and quality benchmarks to tackle core technical challenges. Meanwhile, the organization stepped up its people-centered initiatives. By hosting group birthday celebrations and holiday appreciation visits, it ensured that the team members remaining on-site felt a genuine sense of belonging and support amidst their high-pressure work. These efforts have further strengthened the team’s cohesion and collective drive.

This marks the 5th launch of the Long March-12 Carrier Rocket, the 258th flight test of the Long March series carrier rockets under the overall leadership of SAST, also the 628th launch of the Long March series carrier rockets.
