At 6:11 AM on December 9, 2025, the Long March 6A launch vehicle lifted off from Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center, successfully deploying the SatNet LEO Group 15 satellites into the destination orbits, signaling a complete success of the launch mission.

The Long March 6A is a new-generation medium-lift launch vehicle with solid-fuel and liquid propellant developed by Shanghai Academy of Spaceflight Technology. It can meet diverse and intensive launch requirements, including launching single satellites, multiple satellites in parallel or tandem, and stacked, wall-mounted, or piggyback launches, with a payload capacity of no less than 6.5 tons for deploying satellites into a 500-kilometer sun-synchronous orbit.

The launch took place in a cold winter. The model team conducted a comprehensive review based on a low-temperature threshold of -30°C to ensure the rocket is suitable for cold-weather launches, and thoroughly confirmed the low-temperature adaptability of both the rocket’s components and the ground equipment. In close collaboration with the launch site team, all necessary safeguard measures for low-temperature launches were put in place, laying a solid foundation for the safety of the launch mission. At the same time, based on the previous maintenance and servicing of the launch pad system, the test team organized personnel to conduct a thorough inspection of the system’s operation and its compliance with required specifications to ensure that the equipment was fully prepared for the launch, thus effectively guaranteeing the smooth progress of the launch mission.
During the mission, the model team carried out technical discussions and a “post-mission review” of improvements from previous launches to help deepen the team members’ understanding and mastery of the product and its status. They communicated and coordinated thoroughly with the launch site team to meticulously refine every detail, thus ensuring the product quality is reliable, the process is controllable, and the launch mission is successful.

This launch mission is the 19th launch of Long March 6A launch vehicle, the 251st flight test of the Long March series of launch vehicles developed by Shanghai Academy of Spaceflight Technology, and the 613th launch of China’s Long March series of launch vehicles.
