At 9:51 on November 20, the Long March 4B carrier rocket carrying the Gaofen-11 03 satellite blasted off at the Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center. Subsequently, the satellite successfully entered the scheduled orbit, marking a complete success of the launch mission.

Developed by the Fifth Institute of China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation, Gaofen-11 03 satellite has made outstanding contributions to national economic and social development in the fields of land census, urban planning, land ownership confirmation, road network design, crop yield estimation, and disaster prevention and mitigation.

The Long March 4B carrier rocket is a three-stage liquid carrier rocket functioning at normal temperature developed by the Eighth Institute of China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation. It can launch a variety of satellites with different requirements about orbits, and perform one satellite launch and multiple satellites launch, with the carrying capacity of its sun-synchronized circular orbit reaching up to 2.5 tons.

This is the third time that the Long March 4B rocket has performed the launch of the Gaofen-11 series satellites. Earlier, the Long March 4B rocket successfully launched the Gaofen-11 satellite on July 31, 2018, and the Gaofen-11 02 satellite on September 7, 2020.
