At 22:15 on August 17, 2025, the Long March 6A launch vehicle successfully lifted off from the Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center, precisely deploying the SatNet LEO Group 09 satellites into their destination orbit, signaling a complete success of the launch mission.

The Long March 6A is a new-generation medium-lift launch vehicle with solid-fuel and liquid propellant developed by Shanghai Academy of Spaceflight Technology. It can meet diverse and intensive launch requirements, including tandem, parallel, stacked, wall-mounted, and piggyback configurations for both single and multiple satellites, with a payload capacity of no less than 6.5 tons for deploying satellites into a 500-kilometer sun-synchronous orbit.

At present, the Long March 6A launch vehicle has entered an intensive launch schedule, which in turn puts forward higher requirements for the model team. Driven by the spirit of resilience and continuous dedication, the team considers every launch mission as if it were their first mission. All personnel are organized to hold focused study sessions to help them fully understand the products and their condition. They clearly define the responsibilities and carry out their work with a cautious attitude to ensure smooth operations at the launch site and the successful completion of each mission.
The model team focused on frontline operations at the launch site. With key operations as the main task, they reviewed and refined all launch site operations and processes from the perspective of operational bases, critical analysis, and control measures. To meet the demands of intensive launches, the team continuously optimized the testing procedures at the launch site. At the same time, they reviewed and summarized the key points that the current personnel and incoming personnel need to pay attention to during handovers. All improvements were incorporated into the testing guidelines and operating procedures to ensure that valuable experience is effectively passed on.

Because thunderstorms are frequent in the summer, the test team organized a special review focused on rain and lightning protection, covering the effectiveness of rain and lightning protection measures, and the status of implementation of these measures, and compiled the results into a tabulated confirmation document. At the same time, they rechecked the related protective measures for key stages such as rocket transportation and retraction of the gantry scaffold. Through scientific prevention and precise measures, they ensure that subsequent launch site missions can be successfully completed.
This launch mission is the 15th launch of the Long March 6A launch vehicle, the 243rd flight test of the Long March series of launch vehicles developed by Shanghai Academy of Spaceflight Technology, and the 590th launch of China’s Long March series of launch vehicles.
