Long March 6A launch vehicle was successfully launched with Yaogan-40 03 satellite

At 0:34 am on September 7, 2025, the Long March 6A launch vehicle successfully lifted off from the Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center, precisely deploying the Yaogan-40 03 satellite into the destination orbit, signaling a complete success of the launch mission.
The Long March 6A is a new-generation medium-lift launch vehicle with solid-fuel and liquid propellant developed by Shanghai Academy of Spaceflight Technology. It can meet diverse and intensive launch requirements, including tandem, parallel, stacked, wall-mounted, and piggyback configurations for both single and multiple satellites, with a payload capacity of no less than 6.5 tons for deploying satellites into a 500-kilometer sun-synchronous orbit.
Faced with the intensive launch schedule in the second half of the year, the test team, under the leadership of the chief designer and chief commander of the model, carried out every task on schedule and to the required standards with the right quality and quantity, while demonstrating strong perseverance, unwavering determination, and high morale. Considering the personnel changes in each mission, the model team organized all systems to continuously refine operational documents and hold dedicated training and exchange sessions to pass down valuable experience and turn it into a long-lasting working mechanism, while also continuously strengthening team members' monitoring and understanding of both the products and their status.
In light of the frequent thunderstorms and lightning in the current season, the model team made thorough planning, optimized their work processes, and strengthened the inspections of rainproofing and lightning protection measures. Special emphasis was placed on defining the operating periods and protection requirements for key procedures such as transfer operations, ensuring scientific prevention, implementation of targeted measures, product safety, and smooth execution of the mission.
This launch mission is the 16th launch of Long March 6A launch vehicle, the 244th flight test of the Long March series of launch vehicles developed by Shanghai Academy of Spaceflight Technology, and the 593rd launch of China’s Long March series of launch vehicles.
