FY-2 Meteorological Satellite
FY-2 is the 1st generation of Chinese geostationary meteorological satellite. The satellite-borne detectors involve multi-channel scanning imager and space environment monitor. FY-2 satellite can obtain weather pictures periodically through an earth observation of visible light, infrared and water vapor cloud. Currently, the department of FY-2D, FY-2E and FY-2F has been officially put in operation and supplying real-time dynamic meteorological data to China and other countries for climate monitoring and weather forecasting.
