Long March-6A Carrier Rocket Successfully Launches Qianfan Polar Orbit Group 09 Satellites

At 19:59 on May 12, 2026, the Long March 6A carrier rocket successfully sent the Qianfan Polar Orbit Group 09 satellites into the preset orbit at the Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center, marking the full success of the launch mission.
The Long March 6A carrier rocket, developed under the lead of SAST, is a new-generation Medium-lift launch vehicle with solid-fuel and liquid propellant. With a payload capacity of no less than 6.5 tons for deploying satellites into a 500-kilometer sun-synchronous orbit, the carrier rocket covers diverse and intensive launch needs such as single satellite, multiple satellites in parallel or tandem, stacking, wall-mounted and piggyback launches.
At present, the Long March 6A carrier rocket has fully entered a phase of high-density launches. The project team has consistently exhibited strong perseverance to overcome challenges. Maintaining a highly driven spirit, they have been strictly adhering to schedules, upholding rigorous quality standards, and advancing all tasks efficiently and methodically.
During this mission, the project team maintained a meticulous, cautious, and practical working style. They conducted retrospective "double retrospection" reviews, status verifications, and risk identifications on a regular basis. This ensured stringent control over critical operations, error-prone steps, and mandatory inspection points. Furthermore, to account for seasonal weather variations and holiday staff rotations, the project team further optimized procedures and contingency plans while enhancing technical briefings. Relying on thorough handover processes, they implemented mentor-mentee training mechanism to pass down valuable experience. They continuously refined testing guidelines and operating procedures to build a comprehensive safety and quality shield, ultimately ensuring the total success of the mission through disciplined conduct and practical measures.
This marks the 23rd launch of the Long March 6A carrier rocket, the 266th test flight of the Long March series carrier rockets under the lead of SAST, and the 642nd launch of the Long March series carrier rockets.
