Long March 6 was successfully launched with three satellites
At 8:10 A on October 22, 2024, the Long March 6 launch vehicle was launched from Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center, successfully sending three satellites (Tianping 3A (01), Tianping 3B (01), and Tianping 3B (02)) into their destination orbits, signaling a complete success of the launch mission.
The Long March 6 launch vehicle, which carried out this launch mission, is a three-stage launch vehicle powered by cryogenic liquid developed by Shanghai Academy of Spaceflight Technology. It is capable of launching various types of satellites with different orbital requirements, and is available for single or multiple satellite launches.
During the operations at the launch site, with a focus on the “three-horizontal” testing and launch model, which pertains to the electrical interface connections with the satellites, the model team, in collaboration with the satellite manufacturer, carried out trial product docking in the technical area and operational drills in the launch area, ensuring that the satellite product was properly installed and that all pre-launch procedures proceeded smoothly. Through conducting “kickoff meetings”, “rehearsal meetings”, “interpretation meetings”, and “pre-shift meetings”, the team members earnestly carried out all tasks during the launch phase, making sure that the work was thoroughly and meticulously completed while deeply understanding and mastering all pertinent data to guarantee the successful completion of the launch mission.
This launch mission is the 13th launch of the Long March 6 launch vehicle, the 222nd launch of the Long March series of launch vehicles developed by Shanghai Academy of Spaceflight Technology, and the 541st launch of Long March series of launch vehicles in China.
