Shanghai Academy of Spaceflight Technology Signing for More than RMB 15.5 Billion at Zhuhai Airshow
On September 29, China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation held the signing ceremony of important projects at the 13th China International Aviation & Aerospace Exhibition (Zhuhai Airshow). Shanghai Academy of Spaceflight Technology signed a cooperation agreement with the Meteorological Satellite Project Management Office of China Meteorological Administration, Aerospace Long-March International Trade Company Limited, and China Great Wall Industry Corporation respectively. Main products involved included Fengyun meteorological satellites, export of military products, and launch vehicles, and the total contract amount was RMB 15.52 billion.
Since the development of the first Fengyun satellite, more than half a century has passed. Fengyun satellite can provide practical services to our people. It represents our independent innovation and can also provide services to the whole world. At the signing ceremony, Shanghai Academy of Spaceflight Technology signed the Letter of Request for Meteorological Satellites with the Meteorological Satellite Project Management Office of China Meteorological Administration and further deepened both parties’ cooperation in the fields of meteorological satellite project. China will formally form a multi-satellite networked, flexible and mobile, and mutually backup meteorological service system for “smart coordinated observation” that can support fine forecasts, and contribute our wisdom to the global disaster prevention and reduction and development of meteorological undertakings.
Along with the rapid development of commercial spaceflight, there have been more and more demands for launching services. Shanghai Academy of Spaceflight Technology signed a new batch procurement agreement for launch vehicles at the airshow. Through batch purchase, the development of launch vehicles can be started in advance to shorten the product delivery cycle, effectively improve the service ability, and increase the commercial competition of Long March launch vehicles.
Shanghai Academy of Spaceflight Technology mainly serves the small satellite market. It has made effective use of the shared launching business model. It tries to further reduce the launching cost and improve the launching efficiency by making the most of the carrying capacity of launch vehicles. After the first shared launching of CZ-6 launch vehicle in this April, the shared launching project of CZ-2D was also signed at the signing ceremony of China Great Wall Industry Corporation held today. This model is expected to be used in international projects in the future.
Besides, Shanghai Academy of Spaceflight Technology has finished the contract signing for the export of 5 military products with Aerospace Long-March International Trade Company Limited. Compared with the last Zhuhai Airshow, the type of products delivered and the number of foreign users have been greatly increased. This shows that in recent years, with the vigorous supports from the major distribution companies of the group, Shanghai Academy of Spaceflight Technology has made steady progress in the development of the military product export market.
