Yunhai-1 02 satellite is developed under the master of Shanghai Academy of Spaceflight Technology of CASC. It is mainly used in the detection of atmospheric and marine environment elements, space environment exploration, disaster prevention and mitigation, scientific experiments and other fields.

The Long March-2D carrier rocket for this launch mission was also developed under the master of Shanghai Academy of Spaceflight Technology of CASC. This launch is the 44th launch of the Long March-2D carrier rocket, the 313rd flight of the Long March series launch vehicle, and the 107th flight test of the Long March series launch vehicle developed under the master of Shanghai Academy of Spaceflight Technology.
