Space Docking Mechanism
The Androgynous Peripheral Assembly System (APAS) is designed to achieve the capture, dynamic attenuation, alignment, and hard docking of two spacecrafts. While the spacecrafts are structurally attached, the docking mechanisms provide an 800mm inner tunnel for transferring crew members and equipment between the spacecrafts.
