At 6:52 on April 30, China successfully implemented the launch mission of the “two satellites with one rocket” of Long March 4B at Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center, putting Tianhui 2 satellite into solar synchronous orbit.

Long March 4B, which is mainly developed by the Eighth Academy of China Aerospace Science and Technology Group Co., Ltd., is a liquid launch vehicle at room temperature. It has the ability of launching multiple satellites, and single and multiple satellites with different orbital requirements. In order to meet the requirements of the satellite envelope and the tandem configuration of two satellites with one rocket, a 3.35-meter diameter fairing and a 3.35-meter diameter adapter module are used in the arrow body for the first time.

Twenty years ago, on May 10, 1999, the first flight of the Long March 4B was successful, and the accurate launching of the "Fengyun 1C" and "Practice 5" satellites into orbit not only fulfilled the solemn commitment of the astronauts that taking the country as the emphasis, but also inspired the aspirations of the Chinese people on the international stage. In the past 20 years, Long March 4B has won the first prize of national defense science and technology and the second prize of national science and technology progress successively for its outstanding performance and achievements, ranking in the group company's "gold medal rocket" battle team.

Last year, two types of rockets, Long March 4B and the Long March 4C, carried out six launching missions. According to Wang Yuping, Deputy Commander-in-chief of the Long March 4 rocket, the total number of missions of the two types of rockets will be increased to about 10 times this year.

Tianhui 2 satellite was mainly developed by the Eighth Academy of China Aerospace Science and Technology Group Co., Ltd.

This launch is the 303rd launch of the Long March series launch vehicle, the 104th launch of the Long March series launch vehicle that mainly developed by the Eighth Academy, and the first mission of the Aerospace Model of the Eighth Academy in 2019.
