Release time:
2017/12/02

Shanghai Academy of Spaceflight Technology and the University of Sheffield signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in Shanghai and celebrated an opening ceremony for the Joint Research Centre on September 26th, 2016.

Under the frame of Joint Research Centre, the subsidiaries of both parties, Shanghai Aerospace Equipments Manufacturer (SAEM) and the Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre (AMRC) shall focus on the leading-edge technologies, push the development of manufacturing technologies of thin-walled structures, and lead the related application and extension.

Through the Joint Research Centre, SAEM will work with AMRC on technical issues associated with creating strong thin-walled structures for commercial rockets. The organisation will fund mobility for academic and commercial staff to receive training in advanced manufacturing techniques and send China Scholarship Council (CSC) students to study for PhDs in Sheffield.
